«Lilian Beidler's performative sound installation describes the route of a memory. A route that leads across rocks and sand into the
present and moves out of days spent waiting, crouching and singing into the lightwell of Haus Sein.»
This work results from experiences, impressions and thoughts during and after my stay at the arts and human rights meeting
ARTifariti in the Western Sahara refugee camps in Algeria in 2016.
The 12-channel sound installation in a staircase consists of a 30-minutes-loop of voice recordings and electronics. From upstairs a 15-meters
long paper roll is pouring down on the loudspeakers. During the whole exhibition, I am sitting on the top floor of the building copying RRS
messages from different news feeds onto the paper.
