Countdown to Arabic

Statement on 1 December 2015:

"From the 1st until the 24th of December I will study Arabic every day and document my progress on www.loul.ch/countdowntoarabic.htm.
Given the current political situation with refugees streaming to western countries importing their language and culture, I feel obliged to do something to facilitate the process of mutual understanding. By learning Arabic I oppose the fear of the crisis, war and media manipulation with an active act. I thus hope to contribute to the anti-propaganda lots of people are committed to. I will actively transform myself by building a tool for understanding and communication.
An Advent Calendar is used to count and celebrate the days in anticipation of Christmas. This specific Advent Calendar is called "Countdown to Arabic" because it is urgent to create a superior humanitarian arch that canopies both a Christian tradition and studying the language of the Koran."

Countdown bis Arabisch

Statement am 1. Dezember 2015:

"Vom 1. bis 24. Dezember werde ich jeden Tag Arabisch lernen und meine Fortschritte auf dieser Seite www.loul.ch/countdowntoarabic.htm dokumentieren.
Angesichts der momentanen weltpolitischen Lage mit Flüchtlingsströmen, die ihre Kultur und Sprache nach Europa bringen, sehe ich mich verpflichtet, das gegenseitige Verständnis zu fördern. Indem ich Arabisch lerne, setze ich der Angst vor Krise, Krieg und Medienmanipulation einen aktiven Akt entgegen. Damit möchte ich zur Antipropaganda beitragen, für welche viele Leute einstehen. Ich transformiere mich aktiv und schaffe mir ein Instrument der Kommunikation und des Verständnis'.
Ein Adventskalender dient üblicherweise dazu, die verbleibenden Tage bis Weihnachten zu zählen und zu feiern. Dieser spezielle Adventskalender heisst "Countdown bis Arabisch" weil es dringend ist, einen übergeordneten humanitären Bogen anzulegen, der sowohl eine christliche Tradition wie auch das Lernen der Sprache des Korans überwölbt."
